Industry Influencers

Finding any new method of exposure in this oversaturated industry that is the business of music, is difficult. This is why the strategy with Rey Sparta has been strategic and deliberate from the beginning. Rey came up with the idea of reaching out to influencers to review certain records. Influencer marketing is not new in any fashion, neither are music reviews. What you do with this information is what makes the strategy.

Rey found a company called Breakr, which has a ton of influencers that you can choose based on your particular needs and the demographic you're seeking. All influencer's charge, obviously. The key is to find ones that fit your budget and marketing strategy, or at least the audience you're trying to reach.  Our goal was to increase name and brand recognition versus just followers and numbers. We went through a handful of DJs and influencers, before settling on these three. Yes, they are all talented at their skill, however, remember our strategy, Name and Brand recognition.

These are the first three chosen.

DJ Five venoms (DJ Rolling Loud - #1 Hip Hop Music Festival)

DJ EFN – Drink Champs (#1 Music Podcast out now)

DJ 4Korners – DJ for NBA Team Toronto Raptors

DJ FIVE VENOMS - Rolling Loud DJ. Music Review

We went one by one, submitting music for review. Each DJ had a specific day they reviewed music and gave feedback. The mission was to screen record the live review, which they all did through their IG account. Without this footage, we had nothing. Just our brief moment of joyful instagram success. We even discussed if the review was bad, do we share it. Rey stuck to his guns and wanted full transparency. If they hated it, we were sharing it. Fortunately for us, all the DJs loved the records. They sounded nothing like what they were stuck listening to all day. I love that his music is unapologetically different and aggressive, that’s what made me a fan to begin with.  But if you're different, it better be followed by confidence. Confidence that you believe in your style, sound and overall message that you don’t give a shit what anyone else thinks. There's a confidence that cant be faked. It’s a presence, energy, and aura that only certain people have and can realistically commit to living. This energy is real but has to be nurtured every day. Every day you wake up and live through this energy. You are that person. You are that artist. One does not survive without the other. Whatever this image you envision the world to see, you must live it and put it in the universe every single day.

FUN FACT: Because most reviews were done during the day, Rey would have to hide in the bathroom of his job to record each review. LOL. The life, getting an amazing review of your music by industry greats, and having to immediately go back to a job you hate. Ahhh the life we choose. (#BARS lol)

DJ EFN - Drink Champs Co-Host and Street Team Legend Music Review

These reviews all happened over the course of maybe two or three months. As soon as one was finished, we immediately edited the video of them saying positive words about the music, added a little sauce to the video and posted making sure the message said: DJ So and So from INSERT BIG NAME HERE, Loved the record!!!! Then each post was boosted targeting our demographic. Every successful review got us a few weeks of positive exposure, then we followed with the next review.

We in total I believe ended with 5 reviews captured on video (Rey sent DJ EFN three different records three different times, we feel like family at this point) We followed up with another promo saying that the DJs from Drink Champs, Rolling Loud, and Toronto Raptors all loved music from Rey Sparta.

To EFN, Five Venoms, and 4Korners, we greatly appreciate you, your honest opinion, and will be continuing business in the near future. Again, if any one of those DJs was not feeling the record, we would have shared it the same and been completely open about the review.

Thank you for continuing to follow us on this journey of building Rey Sparta.
